It was working normally until around September 20, 2024, but with the update on September 24, 2024, the Japanese voice playback accent became strange. The playback speed is 150% and is Google Japanese (jaJP). Instead of speaking clearly, I started speaking in strings like in English. It's not very nice to hear.
In this update, there is a big bug. When VoiceWave is activated, the Editing of previous questions function no longer work on Chatgpt. This is really a big problem. Please fix it.
VoiceWave extension has absolute REVOLUTIONIZED the way I study as a medical student. I like to present topics vocally to test myself, and ask GPT for feedback. Voicewave (VW) works even better than the Native GPT app for iphone or mac, as VW allows you to pause and complete your sentences naturally, without interrupting you as the GPT app does. Voicewave is a GAME-CHANGER! My test scores have LEAPED and I feel much more confident about subjects thanks to VW extension. I use the VW extension along with Voice Control for ChatGPT x Mia (VC), in order to take advantage of the Open-AI voices, which are superior to those provided by VW. It would be nice if VW simply activated the native OpenAI voices as does the VC app. All this being said, there are some MAJOR bugs with this app. I will remove as they are corrected. Devs feel free to reply and I will remove if you correct his. PROBLEM LIST 1. If the VW microphone is activated, it overrides the play/pause controls of AirPods (via pressing the stem). I would like to have youtube videos playing and then pause them to use VW to dictate a question to ChatGPT about the contents of the video, and then hear the answer, and then tap again to resume. 2. The old method of dictation was far superior vs the recent updates. Now it is very slow to dictate and usually only finishes at the end of one or two sentences, whereas before it would live transcript as I was speaking. 3. AutoTrigger after 3 seconds often does not work, also cannot adjust time, it simply does next line function 4. Send with "Enter" does not work often, ongoing problem for several months, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. 5. VW sometimes gets confused if using different microphones eg if turning on AirPods or setting them down, it loses microphone detection. 6. VW app seems to disable copy function, I was not able to copy and paste VW messages until I removed the app.

This plug in works very well with an educational GPT that allows children who can not yet read. Children can verbally ask questions directly to the GPT and the GPT reads the response back to the child. The plug in works very well with Spanish speakers.

I've used a free voice wave plugin that's effective in both Chinese and English, and it accurately picks up my voice. It's quite good for a free tool, but remember to switch the language mode when changing languages.
